Burgundy And Gold Column: It's Time To Move On From Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn, you gave myself and many Commanders fans one of the greatest seasons in 2024 for us to watch. We really appreciate that time. But you are starting to show why you shouldn't be the head coach from now on forward. The results are simply not there and the amount of times of lapse in judgment the last couple of weeks proves so. Dan, your time is up, but thanks for the memories.

Look, I love Dan Quinn. He genuinely seems like a good dude, locker room seems to love him, and is great with the media. But Quinn just isn't head coach material. He definitely can be a leader, but bad playcalling and not getting enough out of a talented roster just proves that Quinn should not be the man calling the shots in Washington anymore. Oh, the constant mishandling of franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels with all his injuries is another big reason too!

3-14-1 in the last 18 games dating back to 2025 just proves everything. Injuries definitely play a factor and that is not on Quinn, but injuries aren't going to cause a team to play that badly. Then, the last two games, Quinn didn't relay the urgency to get a play going or a spike in the tie against New York or not realizing it was fourth down, but called for a field goal just goes to show that his awareness or urgency is not there.

There is plenty of talent on this Commanders team, but if you're not getting results with this side then it speaks volumes. It's clear and obvious that while his team loves him as they are trying to make excuses for Quinn, the results are obvious regardless of the other stuff mentioned. But there has to be tough decisions made. If you want to demote him, that's fine by me, but he clearly should not be the head coach for the Commanders.
