Will Everton Add On Transfer Deadline Day?

Marcel Brands has certainly made some noise of late as he has made six major signings including Moise Kean and most recently Djibril Sibide, but the question is will they make some even bigger splashes by when the transfer deadline ends 5:00 PM Liverpool, UK Time/12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time USA? It would not be surprising as the club is desperately trying to do big things and bring trophies home, they want to compete at the highest level possibly.

One player Everton has been pursuing is Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. The Blues have been hotly pursuing Zaha for a good bit this summer. There have been a few bids made by Brands, but Crystal Palace has rejected all of them seemingly making their pursuit dead. Then, in a twist, Zaha put in a transfer request, which should make it better for Everton in their pursuit of the forward. Expect something to happen in that regard.

Another player Brands has been in pursuit of is Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi. Iwobi would be a player that would fit seamlessly into Silva's system and could provide some depth as well. The Blues could use another winger, but not getting one might not be the biggest worry. That being said, Brands is going to try as hard as he can to get Iwobi. Arsenal rejected one of the clubs bids already, but expect Brands to make a bigger one.

A position that will be needed is a center back. After it seems like the Blues will not be able to keep Kurt Zouma, there seems to be a void there. Yerry Mina, while very talented and is a very good player, has had some injury problems and while he could be a great center back, that's if he stays healthy, plus he really hasn't had all that much experience in the Premier League. Everton can't rely on that so the club needs to go out and get someone who is a quality and proven center back. The squad tried to go after Manchester United center back Chris Smalling with a loan offer, but that was rejected. There are a good number of center backs on Manchester United, so playing time for Smalling is probably decreasing and a move would be wise for him. However, Brands and the Toffees shouldn't have to totally focus on just Smalling, there are other center backs that might be available and should be pursued. That is a positional need that is incredibly vital.

So, will Everton add on transfer day? It would be very hard to say no as Brands is making it look like he is making some last minute additions, as he should. There might be a flurry of additions, but only time will tell. It should be very interesting to see what happens, but expect some players to be joining the Blues and possibly the players mentioned in this article.
