The Chicago White Sox announced that they have claimed pitcher Emilio Vargas off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 24 year old has never pitched higher than Double-A, but has 99 starts (127 games) with a career 3.48 ERA and 1.211 WHIP. It's likely he will be at Triple-A Charlotte to start 2021, but it's not known what role he will have when he pitches at the big level as he could either start or relieve. However, he will likely be in Charlotte's rotation in 2021.
