The Commanders Need To Recoup Value At Trade Deadline

At 3-6, the fact of the matter is that the Commanders need to start trading some players away. The team could still possibly make the playoffs, but there needs to be a lot of hurdles to clear for that to happen. With Jayden Daniels' injury Sunday night, plus having such others like Luke McCaffrey and Marshon Lattimore also suffer injuries (season ending ones too), right now things don't look too good. That being said, it's time for the team to look towards 2026 and start trying to get as much value as they can.

Zach Ertz

Ertz has been solid in DC and would be a welcomed addition to any team. While not quite a great player like he was in Philadelphia, Ertz is still a veteran and adds a lot of depth plus it gives another quarterback an extra weapon on their offense. Ertz probably could bring in a fourth and/or fifth pick.

Nick Allegretti and Andrew Wylie

The aging offensive linemen would help tremendously to a team looking for help and depth in the trenches. They also provide some experience as both played for the Kansas City Chiefs and have been in winning environments. Any team in the league could use their services. They probably both could net a fifth rounder

Von Miller And Bobby Wagner

These two have been amazing linebackers during their careers and while things are not clicking in Washington at the moment, the veterans could be useful to a team chasing Super Bowl glory. They have experience and provide depth as while clearly not in their primes any more, there is some value still left. These two probably could bring in sixth and seventh rounders.

Javon Kinlaw and Eddie Goldman

These guys pretty much provide depth for any defensive line. While they're not studs, they at least have some upside that contending sides could absolutely use. Both probably could bring in seventh round picks as that would help build up the Commanders with younger players and more talent.
