Team USA advanced out of their pool by the skin of their teeth, but they have shown how dominant they can be by the way the squad beat Mexico, Great Britain, and Brazil. Now USA will face Canada in the quarterfinals as this should be an interesting matchup. This article will preview this game as Canada is a very solid team.
USA Can't Take Canada Lightly
While Canada doesn't have the likes of Freddie Freeman on their squad, but there is some great talent here. Josh and Bo Naylor, Abraham Toro, Jameson Taillon, Mike Soroka, Cal Quantrill, James Paxton, Tyler O'Neill, Otto Lopez, Edouard Julien, Matt Davidson, Owen Cassie, and Phillippe Aumont are some of the big names here, but like Italy, they cannot be taken lightly.
Take Advantage Of Mike Soroka
Soroka doesn't throw very fast as he tries to use his stuff more than velocity. This is not a favorable matchup for Soroka as USA should be able to crush that type of pitching. However, if USA cannot take advantage and then when Canada heads to the bullpen, things get harder.
Logan Webb Needs To Give His Best
Canada's lineup has some good hitters like the Naylor brothers and O'Neill, but USA starter Logan Webb needs to step up here as like mentioned as this is clearly a more difficult lineup than Brazil's was. He can't give them any leeway as they could hit a country mile. After he's paid his dues, let the bullpen do the rest.
