Lets try not to think of last season. That was literally historically bad. But the only way is up right? The White Sox were absolutely putrid last season that best can be described as they had to luck into breaking the single season loss record. That being said, despite all the pessimism, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. But, the focus will have to be on the 2025 season and see where things go because it is going to be another long season at 35th and Shields.

Pitching Corps
The pitching is not going to be good this year. That being said, there are some intriguing arms. The rotation is essentially all young players whom are incredibly talented. Burke, Cannon, and Smith are are super talented and looking to be the start of one of the best rotations in baseball in a few seasons. Perez is the veteran arm whom they will likely trade midseason and Martin will look to be the swing guy as either long relief and starting a few games. The bullpen looks pretty bleak as there is no clear guy to be the set up guy or closer, but Clevinger looks to become a solid reliever.
Catchers
Lee will likely be depth in the future and Thaiss will probably be either released or be traded later in the season once Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel make it to the show.
Infielders
This looks bleak too, but this seems like a better defensive side than last year (thank god). Can Vaughn live up to his potential? Is Baldwin a breakout candidate after the promise he showed in both the majors and minors last season? Is Vargas going to show that he is not a bust? Can Sosa show some promise? Lots of question marks, but expect a VERY different infield come towards the end of the season.
Outfielders
Probably the "best" part of the roster, this has some question marks as well. Was last season just a bad year for Benintendi because of the injury considering his resurgent second half and will he get traded? Will Robert finally prove that his 2023 season was who he really is and will he get traded as well? Will Slater be a trade candidate as well? This outfield most probably will look very different at the end of the season.
How Will This Season Go?
It's going to be a very bad season for the team. However, it's definitely a better side than last year especially with some promotions and players coming off the injured list. There will be a column coming soon about the future of the Sox as while things are really bad now, they could be really great soon.
