Previewing 2019 Season For Redskins

It's a brand new season for the Redskins and another chance for them to prove that they are a playoff club. While last year ended in bitter disappointment as so many key injuries to the team caused them to lose six of their next seven games. However, with everyone healthy and with a lot of new faces, there is a lot to like here about the team.

While there is some optimism, the schedule is not easy for the Redskins. In their first three games they play, all of the teams were playoff squads in 2018 (Philadelphia, Dallas, and Chicago). Then their fifth game of the season is against the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and that will be tough to beat. After that, it gets easier as they take on Miami, San Francisco, Minnesota, Buffalo, New York Jets, and Detroit and this will be a crucial part of their season as these are must win games. After that, it gets tricky again as they play Carolina, Green Bay, Dallas, and Philadelphia.

There is a lot to like about them as the defense has a lot of talent, but there are some holes there. The offense is a question mark as head coach Jay Gruden will hand the reins to Case Keenum and Derrius Guice as the starting quarterback and running back respectively.

Prediction: If every goes as a planned, a Wild Card berth is realistic. I see them finishing 9-7 and in the playoff hunt. They either will just miss the postseason or sneak in on the last day.
