Old Glory Signs Declan O’Donnell

Old Glory has made another big signing as they have brought in winger Declan O'Donnell. With the season starting next month, the club needed to beef up their backs and with a player like O'Donnell, they continue to make great moves. The only question will be how Old Glory sets up their backs in the lineup on game days with the addition of O'Donnell.

O'Donnell hails from New Zealand in the Waikato province. He actually got his start playing for New Zealand in Sevens in 2010, but got a chance to play for the Maori All Blacks in 2012. O'Donnell then took his skill sets to Super Rugby where he played for the Chiefs, Blues, and Highlanders. He also played in the Mitre 10 Cup having played for Waikato and Taranaki. O'Donnell will join his Waikato teammate Api Naikatini at Old Glory.

Wing was a glaring need for the team, but getting O'Donnell certainly helps alleviate the problem. While there is plenty of time for the team to acquire more players, and there are certainly some that still have not been announced yet, the season is a month away. Now, in terms of how the lineup will be set up, O'Donnell should figure to start at one of the wings, but who will start on the other side of the field remains to be seen. That being said, with his experience, he should be another solid acquisition for Old Glory.
