Old Glory Signs Center Doug Fraser

Old Glory has made another big signing as they beefed up their attack from the backs as they brought in Canadian international Doug Fraser to play for them in 2020. The center is the next and most likely not last big name signing the team has brought in just before the beginning of their inaugural season. It will be interesting to see what type of impact he brings, but the expectations should be high.

Fraser is coming from Austin where he played in the 2019 Major League Rugby season, but only played in four matches. In those four matches he carried the ball 21 times for 182 meters and made 22 tackles. Those numbers suggest he could also be a very solid defensive player and carries the ball well. Essentially, this is exactly the type of player that Old Glory would need on offense as he could be a game changer.

Before joining the Canadian national side, some saw him as a "high-level prospect" while he was playing for his provincial side BC Bears of British Columbia. He then made his international debut in 2018 during the America's Rugby Championship against Brazil. He has played for Canada four times.

With this signing, there are a few questions to ask. One of them is where else is the team targeting for positional needs as adding Fraser was a big one they filled in the backline. The next question is whether Old Glory is a dark horse candidate to make the playoffs in 2020 considering all these quality signings they have made. It could be a fun time to watch rugby in the Nation's Capital in 2020.
