Notre Dame have added grad transfer recruit defensive back Nick McCloud from North Carolina State. McCloud was team captain for the Wolfpack as a senior, however, due to injuries, he was granted a medical redshirt giving him another year of eligibility. As a grad transfer, he has now decided to bring his talents to South Bend.
McCloud started 19 games for NC State as he recorded 105 tackles, 20 passes defensed, and intercepted three balls during his time in Raleigh. McCloud brings a lot of experience and considering he was a captain, he should be a leader out on the field, especially in the secondary. He benefits from being speedy and his football instincts are impeccable. He represents insurance and depth while the younger players develop.
