Looking At North Carolina: Guards

Anthony Harris

Harris is a freshman this year. Harris will probably not get much playing time because of the amount of guards on the squad this year. He is a versatile player, but he should provide some solid depth off the bench. He could be an under-the-radar prospect that could flourish for the squad in the future. He's a two-way player, but has dealt with health issues in the past.

Leaky Black

Black is a very exciting player who is also versatile, something that head coach Roy Williams likes. He has dealt with injuries in the past, but it shouldn't be a concern now. Black puts up good numbers, but isn't outstanding in any area of the game. He is at least a steady presence.

Cole Anthony

The prized prospect for Roy Williams as Anthony is looking to be a star in the making. He was one of the highest ranked recruits Williams has brought to Chapel Hill and the offense is predicated to his skill set. He shoots extremely well and runs an offense excellent. He can be streaky, but when he gets hot, any team no matter how good their defense is, will struggle to contain him.

Andrew Platek

Platek has been known to be a solid shooter, but his shooting must stay steady if the Tar Heels want any chance at winning. He should help with depth and another shooting option in certain situations. He's also a good defender, something the team will need out of him. When his shooting is on, he can score a lot of points, so, that's why he is a key player.

Brandon Robinson

Robinson is an excellent shooter. He also plays out on the wings, which makes him a vital player to the offense. He's also an excellent defender as he helps out in matching up against certain players and set ups. His three-point shooting is excellent and is a major factor to the offense. Not having him play hurts the squad a lot.

Jeremiah Francis

Francis is an unknown. He hadn't played competitive basketball in two years and had injury problems. But his talent is really the big part of why he is on the team. He at least provides depth. His recruitment is a low risk, high reward gamble by Roy Williams.

Caleb Ellis

Likely to not get much playing time.

K.J. Smith

Like Ellis, not likely to get much playing time.

Justin Pierce (also plays at forward)

Pierce is versatile as he can play as a forward or as a guard. He is a transfer from William & Mary, so he does provide experience and depth. He put up good numbers at William & Mary suggesting he should be a solid player for UNC. He shoots the ball well and rebounds it great as well, something Williams loves. Pierce might be a vital player to this squad.

Robbie O'Han

As well as Ellis and Smith, he is unlikely to see the court that much.

Christian Keeling

Keeling was another transfer to join UNC for 2019-20 as he is coming in from Charleston Southern. Keeling looks to be another low risk, high reward recruitment for Williams as he adds a lot of intrigue. His numbers as a junior were fantastic, so at worst, Keeling does provide depth. Keeling shoots the ball well, which goes a long way in Williams' offense.
