Looking At Everton: Midfielders

Everton has a very solid presence at midfield and with a few good additions prior to the season starting, this is a very strong part for the team. There is a ton of talent and depth here that you should see this part of the squad being the decisive factor is many matches. With that being said, let's take a look at each player in Everton's midfield.

Fabian Delph

Delph was once a promising player, but injuries hampered his progression. That being said, this was a low-key move for Everton as Delph provides depth and quality. He is also versatile so he can move anywhere on the pitch if needed. He can play a possession type game and he is a solid passer.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Sigurdsson might be the most important player on the pitch for the club as where he goes, the Blues go too. He does own the very important 10 jersey as he takes the corner kicks and free kicks. He might be one of the most underrated players in the world and the Toffees are ever so glad to have him the squad. If he is injured, he would be difficult to replace.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Schneiderlin has been a bit of a disappointment during his spell. That being said, he will be much needed depth for the squad especially at the defensive midfield. Schneiderlin is known to be an excellent passer and gets physical when defending. Expect him to receive a lot of yellow cards this season.

Bernard

Bernard is a versatile midfielder as he can play out on the wing, but he will be mostly used left side of the midfield. He is a great distributor of the ball and has great vision of the pitch. He is one of the more underrated players in the league and he makes a nice pair with Andre Gomes.

Andre Gomes

One of the most important things to do in this transfer window was to retain Gomes on a permanent deal after coming over on loan from Barcelona last season. He played so well that fans wanted the club to keep him and that they did as he fits perfectly in Silva's system. His biggest asset is the ability to distribute the ball to the main goal scorers and thats what they need from the central midfield position. He is one of the more underrated players in the world.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin

Gbamin will have to step into a role that Idrissa Gueye had solidified for Everton, but he is six years younger than Gueye and might be getting him at the right time as Gbamin might be coming into his prime now. There are similar stats between him and Gueye, but Gbamin is more physical. This might be a better situation for the club with him playing as a defensive midfielder and this could be sneaky good transfer.

Tom Davies

Davies has been a bit of a disappointment for the Blues ever since graduating from the academy, but that being said though, he's still a solid player. He can make a steady presence from the midfield as a substitute. There is a lot of talent in him, but he needs more playing time if he wants to unlock his potential. As of right now, he does provide depth. He is only 21, so he could develop into something more still.

Kevin Mirallas

Mirallas has certainly had a fall from grace as he was one of Everton's best players a few seasons back and now he is nothing more than just depth at this point. That being said, he does provide versatility as he can play as a striker. Maybe in some certain situations he might come in as a substitute, but his time with the club could be coming to a close soon.

Yannick Bolasie

When Bolasie came to the squad, he was this big signing and the fan base had a lot of hope because he had the potential to do a lot of big things. He got hurt and when he came back healthy, he just wasn't the same player and didn't produce. While he does provide depth, Bolasie's time as a Blue is coming to a close soon as well.
