North Carolina forward Brandon Huffman has decided to enter the transfer portal meaning he will leave the program. He was recruited by head coach Roy Williams in 2017, the same season Garrison Brooks and Sterling Manley came in. In 70 games as a Tar Heel, Huffman averaged 1.4 points & 1.1 rebounds.
This seemed obvious as Huffman was going to have a hard time cracking consistent playing time, especially as a senior. With Armando Bacot and Brooks returning, Sterling Manley expected to get consistent minutes, and with the recruits of Day'Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler, Huffman didn't see where he would fit in for minutes. While he could have been nice depth, in his best interests, a transfer is a good idea.
