Marco Silva has been sacked by Everton after a string of poor performance. His firing came after a 5-2 drubbing by arch rival Liverpool. At the time of the firing, the club was in 18th place in the Premier League table.
The Toffees had been averaging less than a point per game and only had won four matches. While Silva might not been totally to blame, something needed to happen. A change was seemingly needed. Clearly the tactics were not working and losses to teams low in the table, when the club was deemed very talented, was not a good look for Silva. Duncan Ferguson took over in interim.
