Ireland Forward Cian Healy Out For Rest Of 2020 Six Nations

Updated: Aug 29, 2020

Ireland has taken a huge blow in their scrum as their experienced loosehead prop Cian Healy will miss the rest of the Six Nations. Healy had injured himself in the 26th minute of the match against Ireland with David Kilcoyne replacing him for the rest of the match. Healy is dealing with a hip injury that he suffered in a ruck.

So, with Healy out, it does open up a spot for Kilcoyne to replace his presence in the ruck. The bigger question here is how will the scrum be affected without Healy. The other question to be asked here is how deep is the depth for the front row as Andrew Porter, while versatile, is he going to come on as a replacement for Kilcoyne or for Tadhg Furlong? It is more likely that Jack McGrath will be the depth piece for Kilcoyne and have Porter remain behind Furlong, but there is still a lot of question marks about McGrath. So with all that in mind, losing Healy seems like a massive blow to the Irish scrum, but only time will tell.
