The Washington Capitals have announced that they have signed defenseman Zdeno Chara to a one year contract. The signing is worth $795,000. Chara is 43 years old and recorded 14 points last year for the Boston Bruins (five goals, nine assists). Chara registed 3:11 of penalty kill time per game to rank 11th in the NHL and help the Bruins to the third best penalty kill percentage in 2019-20 at 84.3. Chara also finished second among Boston defensemen in blocked shots with 101.
