The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Justin Schultz to a two year contract and a $4 million cap hit. In 2020-21, the team will owe Schultz $3 million, while in 2021-22, the Capitals owe $5 million. The 30 year old played in 46 games in 2019-20 for the Pittsburgh Penguins scoring three goals and had 12 points for a -12 rating. Schultz is expected to be a top-four pairing on the blue line for the Capitals in 2020-21.
