The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler for one-year, $800,000. Siegenthaler had a productive 2019-20 season as he scored two goals and tallied nine points with a +11 rating. Siegenthaler also was the Capitals' top penalty killer making him useful on the blue line. The Capitals have high hopes for Siegenthaler as they think he could become of their best defenseman in the near future, but the salary cap could become a factor as to whether he stays or not.
