Bath Rugby's Playoff Chances Crucial In Final Three Matches

Since the resumption of the Premiership season, Bath has shown their potential and have been a fun side to watch. Only losing one match, the club has risen up the ladder and are within striking distance of a playoff spot. Bath is only one point out, but are only four points out from even holding the second seed in the playoffs. There was an article written earlier about their chances of making it to the playoffs, but now the talk here amazingly is how can they make it. Quite the turn of events. The loss to Wasps looms large here and could be the difference if Bath does not qualify, however, that doesn't have to be the case.

This weekend is a huge test and very important one for the club as they take on Sale Sharks who is in a playoff position. Sale has been a bit erratic since the resumption of play, but they are a very talented side and one that will give Bath some fits. However, another matchup to watch this weekend is Bristol Bears vs Wasps as they are two teams that are also in a playoff position. That being said, Bristol holds that number two seed and if they lose to Wasps, that opens the door for so many possibilities. That should give Bath every incentive to win against Sale.

The remaining schedule for the club has them playing Gloucester and Saracens. Gloucester has been struggling this season and that's a must win match for Bath. Saracens have not been playing well of late, but they will be looking to play spoilers and that alone will make it difficult for Bath. Saracens also have a lot of talent still despite so many players leaving and having been relegated. Those matches will be very important as well.

As for the other teams that are in a dog fight for a playoff spot, things look difficult. Wasps play Harlequins next, but will have to play Exeter Chiefs as that will be interesting to see how that match plays out. Bristol will play Leicester Tigers and London Irish, two teams that are at the bottom of the table. Then Sale will play Northampton Saints and Worcester Warriors. Essentially, Bath will have to win out if they want to make it. The hope will be someone will play spoiler and help the club make it to the playoffs. So many possibilities will happen, but these final three matches are crucial as the margin for error will continue to narrow.
