Back row player for Bath, Francois Louw, will be hanging up his boots at the end of the 2019/20 season as he will retire. The 34 year old won a Rugby World Cup playing for his native country of South Africa, but he's also been a staple for Bath having played in 140 matches while making 134 starts. He was with the team for nine seasons.
Louw helped his country of South Africa win the 2019 World Cup. He had played for the Springboks on 76 occasions and was a strong factor in their back row over the years. Louw will now try to pursue a financial job. Now it gives an opportunity for another player to fill in at the 7 jersey.
Louw's retirement will be big shoes to fill as the team will need to find someone to replace him in the starting lineup. Good news for Bath is they have a plethora of talent, so there should be no problem to replace him, but question will be who. That will be something the club will have to address come next season.
